Info regarding COVID-19 and HAY School Closure

Yesterday, the YRDSB communicated to all of us regarding the Ontario Ministry of Education’s order to close schools from March 14 until April 5, 2020 and where Schools are expected to reopen on April 6, 2020. 

We have been advised by the York Region District School Board (YRDSB) that due to School closures, our school permit for Pleasantville Public School in Richmond Hill has been cancelled.

Your health and the health of our community is our priority and therefore, as a result, the
Hellenic Academy of York Greek School be closed for the two weeks following March Break. 

Classes will resume again on Saturday April 25th after our March Break and Easter Break.

Please also note that our bus trip to the Greek Independence Day Parade scheduled for March 29th is cancelled and our trip to the Hellenic Home scheduled for April 25th is also cancelled. 

We ask that you please take extra caution and be safe. Please continue to take care of yourself, be kind to others, and live our Greek culture values that help keep us united as a community. As WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said:  “We’e all in this together.”
